The last thing you might be thinking about when facing a move is getting your deposit back.  Moving can be stressful, but you must be sure to leave your last place in working order so you can get that deposit back. Here is a quick list of place to clean when moving out.

• Take out nails and putty the walls
• Dust light fixtures
• Clean windows
• Get rid of spider webs
• Clean soap scrum in the bathroom
• Clean out all drawers and cabinets
• Clean the refrigerator and Oven
• Vacuum all rooms
• Clean all sinks and faucets

This of course is not an exhaustive list, but be sure to clean as much as possible. Do not worry about painting, or dealing with light wear and tear issues from actually living in the apartment. Managers cannot dock you for faded paint, or worn carpet or any cost of living issues. Another tip is to take a final inspection with your landlord and see if there is anything that must be done.
