Labor Day Weekend is Upon Us!

Labor Day weekend is coming up, so it’s a time for many to get ready for relaxation and recharging during your much-needed break from work.

If you’re the outdoorsy type who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of noisy city life, there’s always the beautiful Caroline Park! There’s both a park and a botanical garden. The trail leads to an ethereal 180-degree view of the mountains. If you’re wanting to stay indoors instead, you can head to Open Door Escape Games! You and six of your family or friends can figure your way out of different themed rooms in 60 minutes. Or you could be the type that just wants to have a staycation at home! Pull out the grill, invite some friends over and share a meal together, which is our personal favorite.

From all of us here at Countrywood Apartments, we hope you have a very fun and safe holiday weekend!

Redlands Nightlife: Enjoy St. Paddy’s Day at Royal Falconer

The Royal Falconer is an old school British Pub with a great atmosphere and even better drinks. But just because the location is a British Pub doesn’t’ mean they won’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The holiday falls on Friday, March 17th this year and is sure to be festive and fun because most people have Saturday off (hooray!).

The reviews for the Royal Falconer are great with one person saying “I like this British pub. The bartenders are always really nice and relaxed. Drinks are made quickly and the vibe is chill. Go to place for a night cap and to meet cool people.” St. Patrick’s Day is expected to be a big affair with locals coming out to enjoy the bar. The location typically serves green beers and provides festive holiday decor and other fun activities to make St. Paddy’s Day as much fun as possible.

Enjoy a Play at the Lifehouse Theater in Redlands

In 2017, we have a near endless amount of options for entertainment. We can browse the internet, stream movies, binge television shows, or get caught up in a social media haze straight from your phone. However, sometimes it’s good to try something new and out of the box, like heading over to an actual theater and watching a play!

Theater productions have lost a bit of their previous audience numbers over the last decade, but still date back as one of the oldest forms of entertainment we have. This March, the Lifehouse theater will be hosting a live performance of the classic story of Peter Pan. So join Peter, Wendy, Tinkerbell and the Lost Boys for a musical night of whimsy and fun. Tickets cost $25 (which is a great value for this awesome experience) and shows will be running all weekend long. Check out this link for more information and to purchase tickets.

Redlands Lifestyle: Where To Eat In The City

Are you looking for places to eat in the City of Redlands? Well then you came to the right blog, because if there is one thing we love, its food. So let’s start with the first meal of the day and figure out who has the best options near you.

Restore Kitchen

1711 W Lugonia Ave, Redlands, CA 92374
Phone number (909) 798-4179

Restore Kitchen is a gastropub that also opens in the morning for breakfast and brunch (which is great, because you can grab a drink if you need it). The restaurant has also been called  “the JayZ and Beyoncé of food!” by one local reviewer, so with praise like that, I’m sure you will head over soon.

Olive Avenue Market

530 W Olive Ave, Redlands, CA 92373
Phone number (909) 792-8823

The market is an actual restaurant and not just a market with an “ambiance that is remarkable” in the words of a Yelp review. The place has a small and quaint vibe that is perfect for a low-key breakfast with your significant other.

Go Hiking at Caroline Park in Redlands

Hiking is a wonderful past time, but it can be much harder than it seems. You need to understand the trails, have the right clothing and shoes, and know how to keep pace.  Expert always advise to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated and plan to carry enough water for an entire day (which is a lot).

You should also keep small snacks just to keep your energy levels up. Safety is the biggest key, however, and keeping communication with the outside world is essential. Text someone your hiking route just so they know where you’ll be. Once you are done, text that friend and let them know you are safe.

Now that we’ve given you a few tips, try heading out to Carolina park on Poppy St in Redlands for a hike sometime soon. You’ll thank us for it. Happy trails!

Watch Super Bowl LI With Tacos & Fun

If you are planning on watching the Superbowl you might as well do it with some tacos–(everyone’s head nods in agreement). The Super, which will feature the New England Patriots taking on the Atlanta Falcons is the most watched TV event of the year, so even if you are not a sports fan, you’ll still have to watch it just to be in on the conversation.

One great place to watch sports in Redlands is Johnny’s Tacos and Sports. The establishment is located on Lugonia ave and creates a festival game-day atmosphere with TVs, drink & food specials, great seating and loads of fun. For those planning on skipping out of the Super Bowl parties this year, stop by Johnny’s for the Big Game. The place is quite popular in Redlands and will be packed come game time, so show up at least an hour before the game.
